As LMA - The Metquarter comes to a close, we look back on our experience as main contractor for the project. The project has been a challenging one, but was a great project to be part of.
The new college campus will revitalise the Metquarter shopping centre as most of the stores that was empty are now being used to develop the skills of many young talents.
The project was taken on by Reds just before the national lockdown which caused some concern. Reds was committed to hand over the project on time and safely. We introduced measures in order to control the spread of the virus. We introduced a 2-metre rule across the site, staggered breaks, staggered worktimes and had manned temperature checks before entering the site. As the mall was still active we asked all our operatives and sub-contractors to wear face coverings while entering the Mall. We are happy to say that with over 9-months of work, we didn't have a single Covid-19 case.
We look forward to working with LMA in the future, who continue to give people opportunities in the Liverpool city region.
